Cozy A-Frame Cabin w/ Lake Access & Dog Friendly

The cabin is old and needs repairs. The deck felt unstable. The kitchen is il equipped. The bathroom and bedrooms are very dark.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in Arnold. The cabin is in a beautiful part of the woods. Because it's in the woods there were some bugs in the house, which probably is inevitable to some extent, but the amount of spiders / spider webs did catch us off guard. There were several dead bugs on the ground as well. It was quite hot in the summer without AC, but having the fans going and getting some airflow with the screen doors worked well enough. It usually cooled off enough by the time we were ready to go to bed, but we purposefully slept downstairs because the loft was too hot. There is a laundry machine and dryer in the basement which is accessed through a door with a padlock in the back yard. This was not described at all on the listing and I would have had no idea it was there unless I searched pretty hard and noticed that the VRBO listing said it had laundry / dryer. The internet is fast. The private lake nearby is awesome, especially when it's hot in the summer. You are supposed to have a parking permit for the lake. The one in the house is outdated from last year but nobody said anything to us about it. The location is really great with tons of hiking around. The Arnold Rim trail is just a few minutes away, and Calaveras Big Trees State Park was also just a 10 minute drive. Murphys is a cute town nearby with plenty of wineries and restaurants. Some of the dishes in the cabinets were still quite dirty so we had to wash them before we used them. There was still a small amount of trash in the garbage when we got there. There are some discrepancies in the instructions / listing on VRBO vs the booklet in the house re whether or not to strip the sheets. The binder said there were beach towels but we couldn't find any. So to summarize it wasn't the cleanest place I've ever stayed but we still really enjoyed ourselves.

We enjoy the rain dropping on the roof the place was lovely and charming relaxing and clean but lots of spiderwebs on the fans walls beams and walls. The communication with the manager was immediate for an issue we had I would love to come back but I must remember to bring hands soap which wasn’t any.

We had such a great, relaxing weekend. It was so quiet and peaceful. The cabin is the cutest and had everything we needed. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a great stay at this A frame in Lakemont Pines. Location was great being close to the grocery store and restaurants in Arnold. The only criticism or recommendation i have is that the owners invest in newer quality pots and pans as well as silverware. Also, the ice trays are very low quality and actually one shattered when trying to remove the ice and hit my husband in his eye. It could have been a very bad outcome.
